If it’s worth doing, it is worth doing right. It is a shame that we haven’t learned from all our past mistakes. Well, if they do this one right, it’ll be a pleasant surprise. What steps do they need to take in order to properly create the position and fill it?
The short answer is to repeal the existing ordinance/job description and craft a new one through a public hearing process.
The shortest answer is to leave the existing ordinance/job description in place and fill the position through an open process of advertising, interviews and full vetting.
What about “Good old boy buddies”? Can they apply?
Bob, your guess is as good as Bob’s.
