TGIF…It’s the Friday Blast!!!

Thank Goodness it’s Friday!! I hope you all had a great week. It was hopping at the Chamber Office! Here is the “Who, What, When, Where, and Why” for the week:

JULY 18: CHAMBER GARAGE SALE The Chamber is hosting a Sale!! It will be located on the corner of 344 and Old 66. If you have treasures you would like to sell there is a $20 space fee. If you want to donate your treasures for us to sell that is also fine. Remember…One man’s junk is another man’s treasure!!!

JULY 18:  ARTS AND ORGANICS Located on the corner of Old 66 and 344. Arts and Crafts. Fresh produce and dairy products.

JULY 23:  EDGEWOOD CHAMBER MIXER Walter Dent will be hosting the mixer this month. It will be at Town and Country Realty located on Old 66 just east of Auto Zone on the north side of the road. Festivities will begin at 5:30 and go until 7ish. Bring your business cards and come prepare to have fun!!!

AUGUST 1 – 2: AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY’S RELAY FOR LIFE/ESTANCIA VALLEY Relay for Life is a wonderful 24 hour event. It is a great way to promote your business and raise money for a GREAT cause. Teams are still forming and sponsors are still needed. Call Robin Foshee 948-6963

AUGUST 8:  RUN, RALLY, AND ROCK!!!!! THIS YEAR PROMISES TO BE THE BEST EVER! THERE ARE EVENTS GOING ON ALL OVER TOWN FROM SUNUP UNTIL SUNDOWN. IF YOU ARE NOT REGISTERED FOR A BOOTH AT THE BUSINESS EXPO, BUT WOULD LIKE TO BE, CALL AND GET SIGNED UP. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE IN THE PARADE OR VOLUNTEER PLEASE CALL THE CHAMBER OFFICE.  ROBIN 286-2577

Just a reminder: The Chamber has set up a memorial fund for the family of Ariel O’Dwyer. Contributions can be made at any SLFCU branch. Any gift would greatly appreciated.

Boxer’s Ears Soundly Boxed

This link introduces us to a new high in ignorance, if not stupidity, on the part of Senator Barbara Boxer.  It seems her efforts to tear down one black person’s organization,  National Black Chamber of Commerce, (NBCC) with another (or more) black organization “blackfired” in the extreme. While she may be seen by some as the mistress of recovery during strife and stress, she bites herself in the rear as she continues in her attempt to recover as she is lambasted by President/CEO Harry C. Alford, the gentleman whose organization (NBCC) and document she tries to trump trounce.  See print article here.

We could put this in another way and say; sometimes Cap and Trade just seems more like Crap and Raid.
