Quote Freely From The Article – Leave The Pseudonym Alone

Yes, it is a strange title for a blog article, but it’s the search term I used on Google to obtain some idea of the magnitude of the noise on the internet pertaining to the hacking of a university’s system and the fallout resulting from the alleged revelation of fraud revealed in e-mails and other documents carved from the material. The so-called and possibly accurate revelations center around e-mails exchanged between scientists “studying” global warming and publishing their findings, which they say, support an anthropological element as the main cause of global warming.

When I conducted my search around 6:00 PM today, I received a return which showed 240,000 entries that pertain to information that contain the words in the “title” of this article.  So, whatever else the e-mails and other documents reveal, they show enough interest in the minds of skeptics to call into question the reputation of the authors of the e-mails and the veracity of the constructors of charts, codes and other papers found among the hacked material. Of course, we cannot be sure that the hacked items were not tampered with to change meanings or nuances. We also know that “scientists” the world over have come to the defense of the researchers at East Anglia University and through inference, if not direct mention, researchers in other locations.

I read around two hundred of the comments on one particular website and an article or two about the flap created by the hacking. While I do not have the time and talent to separate the bull butter from the real deal, I do find some of the e-mail contents potentially damaging to the researchers, especially if the content is proven original and not edited or altered in any way.  Whether you are a skeptic or a believer in global warming, I’m sure you can find most if not all the content I found, and arrive at the same opinion.

I could copy and post the e-mails, but I prefer to allow the readers to access details  from one of the websites and the comments posted there. Here is the link to one of the websites which contain some serious inane comments made by the scientists.

When all of this winds down, as it surely will, we will probably know how much of global warming caused by man can be supported with vetted information and how much of it has been skewed to fit a particular sermon.
