A report from BigGovernment.com that our President has not shot down, picked and roasted the goose that laid the golden egg for his political career.  In this particular case, the magic worked by the President bodes well for his goose … the goose being big labor.  What Obama has shot down is a requirement that would cause big labor to disclose, en masse, the following as reported by BigGovernment.com in this article. You can read the complete article and its predecessor, but a short quote will also yield an understanding of what might have been:

Under current law and regulations valid until December 30th, union bosses were supposed to carefully document the billions of dollars they extract from workers as a condition of employment that they in turn pour into front groups and other “funds” each year.

Previously, Obama’s administration had allowed a scant 11 days for comment on any proposed change to the above requirement. As we see in the article, in the grand scheme of this administration, the effective date for disclosure was extended for another year. Further, the Obama bunch will attempt, during this year (2010) to do away with ANY reporting requirement whatsoever.
