Did he shout it out, or did he utter it in his usual, almost indeterminable ( as a human voice) utterance? Let’s see:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada described in private then-Sen. Barack Obama as “light skinned” and “with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.”
The above attribution is reported by the Associated Press in a story about a book (Game Change by Mark Halperin and John Heilemann) to be released January 11th. The article also reports an apology from Reid:
“I deeply regret using such a poor choice of words. I sincerely apologize for offending any and all Americans, especially African-Americans for my improper comments …..”
Has the lack of “politically correct” speech hooked another politico to a falling star or will Senator Reid hitch a pass? You can read more of the article here. Wager?
