Quote Freely From The Article – Leave The Pseudonym Alone
The personal fortunes of our congressional members have never been scant, ridiculous yes, scant no. I’m not telling you anything that you didn’t already know or suspect, but in my feeble mind it is something worth typing on 3×5 cards and attaching to your refrigerator with the strongest magnets you can find. Then when election time rolls around and you get the many donation solicitations that automatically invade your home or business through the postal service or telephone … or through virtual means, you’ll be ready.
Ready for what? Why, ready to look up the solicitor’s wealth and send a note, email or other missive to him or her suggesting that you really prefer they burn up their own shekels rather than shamelessly begging you into poverty.
It won’t work, but at least you won’t feel like you’ve hired yourself out to a leech in perpetual money grubbing mode.
By the way, there are 238 millionaires among our men and women of the U.S. Congress; therefore you might want to record the top fifty. You can see them and read about them here.
While you’re close to the information, why not find the fifteen congressmen or women who are listed as the most corrupt by the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CARE). Click here and here.
