SCAM:  Monetary Collections To Benefit Roadrunner Food Bank

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: USA/Florida

PREVENTION: Do not give out your credit card or bank account information to anyone soliciting contributions for Roadrunner Food Bank over the telephone. Roadrunner Food Bank does not solicit contributions in this way.

OVERVIEW: Roadrunner Food Bank tells the New Mexico Attorney General’s Office they have received reports that an individual posing as a “fundraiser” for Roadrunner Food Bank is attempting to swindle money from consumers in New Mexico.  The phone calls reportedly come from 1-904-562-6656 and the solicitor attempts to pull on the heart strings of potential givers.  The phone number is for a cell phone in Jacksonville, Florida.

The neighborhood might not be safe for people, but you’d think an attack canine would be safe while waiting for its owner to buy milk.  Well, I can tell all pooch lovers the world over that there is danger in the streets and alleys of Brooklyn, New York and dogs suffer the consequences.

One almost shudders to think of the dire circumstance for the canine after his coat was stolen right off of his back, just outside a market while snow was on the ground and cold was in the air:

A Park Slope pooch was left shivering in the buff after a cold-hearted mugger stole his coat just days before a raging winter storm bore down on the city.
