Actually, the time is well past to play the video or videos of the alleged epithet slinging activity of the demonstrators on March 20th in our Nation’s Capitol. The racial name hurling that was supposedly directed toward members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) as they walked through the crowd to cast or discuss their votes for the health care bill.
I wasn’t there, but I have tried to keep up with the story and have thus far failed to see any video or hear any audio of such activity from the tea party gathering. Is it possible, with all the main stream media around the demonstration, that no proof of the “n” word being used has appeared. Appeared even one time, much less used 15 times according to one black congressman. This according to a USA Today article.
I have not seen or heard such activity and this is what is troubling about the walk-through on the way to vote. With cell phones open for filming, the CBC members did not record any such activity, or if they did, they have not brought it forward to verify their accusations. Could it be, that this was an attempt at race-baiting by the folks that strolled through the tea party crowd, or was it a case of malfunctioning video and audio equipment, which failed completely and simultaneously.
One would think that members of the main stream media (MSM) would be on this story like white on rice, but the silence of the MSM, once the first roar dampened down, is telling in my estimation. Yes, it is telling me that there is probably no record of the racial name calling, because if there was, it would be played over, and over, and over … as it should be.
Someone with more money and sense than I have apparently feels the same as I feel, because he has posted his remarks and some video, along with his put-up and shut-up money in the amount of $10,000, at this location. So, if interested, you should take a trip to Andrew Breitbart’s article and see what questions might arise in your mind.
There is this video that purports to show a demonstrator of some sort shouting as Congressman Cleaver passes by. It could well show something of the sort alleged by Representative Cleaver, but it is anything but clear. Perhaps it was spit or maybe it was spittle that was forced out to Representative Cleaver in small specks of moisture. If it was either, it certainly was not pleasant to Congressman Cleaver, and if spittle unintentionally discharged, it was careless in the extreme on the part of the demonstrator.
It is plain that racial epithets and spitting have no place in political discourse or demonstrations, but neither do false accusations or even assumptions coupled with scant evidence. I sincerely hope if spitting and racial name calling was part of the demonstration against the health bill, that those witnessing such action will disconnect from such people and disavow their speech and spit as uncalled for and just plain ignorant.
In the meantime, let us see if Mr. Breitbart will be $10,000 poorer.
