The Wednesday Membership
Luncheon was full of great information and excellent food!
Thanks Saul Araque of Workforce Connection for all of the great hints and resources!  Thanks Linda Thomas and Martha Eden for a fabulous luncheon.  Next month  we’re having Chicken Pot Pie and salad.  Don’t miss it!
A big thank you to Patrick, Raymond and Stuart Seagers of Seagers Construction for hosting our Mixer last night at the Model Home.  Beautiful construction and great ideas, even if you already own your home and just want a remodel.  Very talented company!  The pot of beans and veges that Stuart made was great, as well. 
And we have to thank all of the wonderful people who spoke in panels or made presentations at our Leadership Edgewood 2012 meeting yesterday.  The theme was
Art, Entertainment, and History.
Jo White, you were wonderful as always…and we learned where to stand on a stage and how to put on a toga.   That was scary.Frank Cullen, you are a master wordcrafter.  We enjoyed learning about the history of Vaudeville, watching a few clips, and learning that all of your very successful work is happening right here in Edgewood…albiet on the internet… and that anyone can work internationally and still live right here!

Johnny Meier, we got some great ideas about the history of, and ideas for us to become part of the great people pleaser that is Route 66.  So many people follow the route every year, and will stop if we give them a reason. 
Saul Araque, thanks so much for bringing in
speakers from ACCION, The Small Business Administration, and WESST who gave us a huge number of ideas about the ways we can get funding for our businesses.
And Martha Eden…your segment today, covering the history of the Estancia Valley was a treasure.  Speakers, Mike Anaya and his wife, Howard Calkins, Patsy Swole, and Dan Swole and his wife gave us a remarkable insight into the beginnings of our area…and it shows us how far we have come.

US Army Jazz Ambassadors Band to perform at Moriarty High School Performing Arts Center
at 7pm on April 5!
The US Army Jazz Band tours nationally and internationally, and we are on this year’s tour. 
 In addition several members of the Moriarty High School Jazz Band will be featured as guest performers for one song with the band!
THIS IS A FREE CONCERT.BUT YOU HAVE TO CALL THE SCHOOL ADMIN OFFICES TO GET YOUR FREE TICKETS RESERVED!
Tickets may be obtained by contacting the superintendent’s office (limiting 4 per request).  We anticipate that this concert will be sold out, so request your tickets as soon as possible.

   SPOTLIGHT ON BUSINESS:
The East Mountain Guide, an online magazine about the people who live, work, play or visit the East Mountain area has launched.
Anne Rich has been building and promoting  online businesses since 1999, and started working on the the East Mountain Guide in 2009. 
“I’ve specialized in reaching new customers online for over a decade so I know how to use my skills to help local businesses, organizations, and individuals get their message out.
I grew up working for our family business and understand the need for reaching new customers while still running your business.  Businesses understand they should ‘get online’, but most hang a website, post on facebook or Craig’s List and then call it quits.  Things you must do every day to build your business:
Plan for the future a few minutes every day.
You may not have time to implement all plans but it’s amazing how many great ideas begin to happen when it’s part of your pattern.
 Work on your marketing in some aspect every day to get new customers.
If your prospective new customers don’t know about you, they won’t buy from you. Work on getting your message out every day.
