LifeNews reports turn-around regarding Obama and his push to require those with religious objections to provide contraceptives to employees as part of ObamaCare.  The courts have disagreed on the issue, so this may be a sign of a turning tide toward freedom from undue restrictions or requirements on religious organizations employing workers in various capacities.  This particular case involved a Bible publisher’s cause of action.

ObamaCare May Still Be In Peril

There is a case working its way through the courts that challenges Obamacare, because the bill originated in the United States Senate instead of the United States House of Representatives as our Constitution requires.

Someone Should Have Warned Us About ObamaCare

Image

Wait they did warn us.  We were cautioned time and again about this pig in a poke, but although we could read … we didn’t heed.  Much more important — the progressives among us in positions of power had to vote for it so they would know what was in it.  Well, more and more of the future damage and verification of the big lie that is ObamaCare is coming out.

Surely you all remember, the lie by this administration that Obamacare would not result in higher premiums for most, if any, Americans.  Surprise!  That was just another hidden lie now coming from this champion of prevarication administrations and we know by now there have been many more and there are many more to come.

You can read and hear about this travesty, but you probably will not read or hear about it in the MainScream (MSM) mess, just as you have not for the last four years of this so-called leader.  In fact, citizens of this nation should give up on any expectation, that print and broadcast media in this country report the news in any meaningful way.  In fact, the MSM, fall behind Pravda and other communist rags ever since they mindlessly embraced this president and landed in bed with him.

So, while you still have the chance to read, see and hear reliable alternative media, please do so, before the privilege flits away.  Click the link below:

It’s a lawyer’s dream!

Officials have already drafted 13,000 pages of new regulations for the new ObamaTax law.

FOX News reported:

With the Supreme Court giving President Obama’s new health care law a green light, federal and state officials are turning to implementation of the law — a lengthy and massive undertaking still in its early stages, but already costing money and expanding the government.

The Health and Human Services Department “was given a billion dollars implementation money,” Republican Rep. Denny Rehberg of Montana said. “That money is gone already on additional bureaucrats and IT programs, computerization for the implementation.”

“Oh boy,” Stan Dorn of the Urban Institute said. “HHS has a huge amount of work to do and the states do, too. There will be new health insurance marketplaces in every state in the country, places you can go online, compare health plans.”

The IRS, Health and Human Services and many other agencies will now write thousands of pages of regulations — an effort well under way:

“There’s already 13,000 pages of regulations, and they’re not even done yet,” Rehberg said.

“It’s a delegation of extensive authority from Congress to the Department of Health and Human Services and a lot of boards and commissions and bureaus throughout the bureaucracy,” Matt Spalding of the Heritage Foundation said. “We counted about 180 or so.”

There has been much focus on the mandate that all Americans obtain health insurance, but analysts say that’s just a small part of the law — covering only a few pages out of the law’s 2700.

“The fact of the matter is the mandate is about two percent of the whole piece of the legislation,” Spalding said. “It’s a minor part.”

Much bigger than the mandate itself are the insurance exchanges that will administer $681 billion in subsidies over 10 years, which will require a lot of new federal workers at the IRS and health department.

“They are asking for several hundred new employees,” Dorn said. “You have rules you need to write and you need lawyers, so there are lots of things you need to do when you are standing up a new enterprise.”

For some, though, the bottom line is clear and troubling: The federal government is about to assume massive new powers.

Back in September 2009, Obama argued and flat-out stated that the ObamaCare mandate was not a tax.  Of course, he wasn’t by himself in that contention, there were more Demos spouting the same screeds … many more than grubs in a cow pie. Plink the link just below to hear and see Obama spread the butter.

Obama: Mandate Is Not A Tax

SCOTUS has  disputed Obama and his fellow progressives and magically made the ObamaCare “mandate,” a tax if he and the Demos can keep it beyond another court challenge or beyond November when the presidential seat will dump Obama and install Romney.  But, beyond the above, others have come forth with articles with suppositions offering hope for the future  Copied below is such an article.

As you have no doubt heard by now, the Supreme Court largely upheld Obamacare with Chief Justice John Roberts writing the majority 5 to 4 decision.  Even Justice Kennedy called for the whole law to be thrown out, but John Roberts saved it.

Having gone through the opinion, I am not going to beat up on John Roberts. I am disappointed, but I want to make a few points. John Roberts is playing at a different game than the rest of us. We’re on poker. He’s on chess.

First, I get the strong sense from a few anecdotal stories about Roberts over the past few months and the way he has written this opinion that he very, very much was concerned about keeping the Supreme Court above the partisan fray and damaging the reputation of the Court long term. It seems to me the left was smart to make a full frontal assault on the Court as it persuaded Roberts.

Second, in writing his opinion, Roberts forces everyone to deal with the issue as a political, not a legal issue. In the past twenty years, Republicans have punted a number of issues to the Supreme Court asking the Court to save us from ourselves. They can’t do that with Roberts. They tried with McCain-Feingold, which was originally upheld. This case is a timely reminder to the GOP that five votes are not a sure thing.

Third, while Roberts has expanded the taxation power, which I don’t really think is a massive expansion from what it was, Roberts has curtailed the commerce clause as an avenue for Congressional overreach. In so doing, he has affirmed the Democrats are massive taxers. In fact, I would argue that this may prevent future mandates in that no one is going to go around campaigning on new massive tax increases. On the upside, I guess we can tax the hell out of abortion now. Likewise, in a 7 to 2 decision, the Court shows a strong majority still recognize the concept of federalism and the restrains of Congress in forcing states to adhere to the whims of the federal government.

Fourth, in forcing us to deal with this politically, the Democrats are going to have a hard time running to November claiming the American people need to vote for them to preserve Obamacare. It remains deeply, deeply unpopular with the American people. If they want to make a vote for them a vote for keeping a massive tax increase, let them try.

Fifth, the decision totally removes a growing left-wing talking point that suddenly they must vote for Obama because of judges. The Supreme Court as a November issue for the left is gone. For the right? That sound you hear is the marching of libertarians into Camp Romney, with noses held, knowing that the libertarian and conservative coalitions must unite to defeat Obama and Obamacare.

Finally, while I am not down on John Roberts like many of you are today, i will be very down on Congressional Republicans if they do not now try to shut down the individual mandate. Force the Democrats on the record about the mandate. Defund Obamacare. This now, by necessity, is a political fight and the GOP sure as hell should fight.

60% of Americans agree with them on the issue. And guess what? The Democrats have been saying for a while that individual pieces of Obamacare are quite popular. With John Roberts’ opinion, the repeal fight takes place on GOP turf, not Democrat turf. The all or nothing repeal has always been better ground for the GOP and now John Roberts has forced everyone onto that ground.

It seems very, very clear to me in reviewing John Roberts’ decision that he is playing a much longer game than us and can afford to with a life tenure. And he probably just handed Mitt Romney the White House.

*A friend points out one other thing — go back to 2009. Olympia Snowe was the deciding vote to get Obamacare out of the Senate Committee. Had she voted no, we’d not be here now.
