The close time for candidates to sign for Edgewood Town Council election was 5:00 PM yesterday (January 5, 2010). According to the Town Clerk the two incumbents, whose terms are due to expire in March of this year declared their intent to run again along with one other candidate.
If there are no “write-in” candidates declaring within the specified time, then Rita-Loy Simmons (incumbent) Glenn Felton (incumbent) and Charles (Chuck) Ring will be the only candidates running for the two spots. Registration for write-in candidates will be from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on January 12, 2010.
In addition to the election for two council positions there will also be an election or referendum for two general obligations bonds.
- For or Against general obligation bonds in the amount of $2,100,000.00 for road improvement and related items
- For or Against general obligation bonds in the amount of $2,1000,000.00 for town buildings and related items
Full details for the bond issues can be obtained through the Town offices. To access other pertinent information for now you can click here. You will find that you do not have to live in Edgewood for the bond election, but you do have to be a property owner if you are not a resident within the corporate limits of Edgewood.
Additional information will be provided as, or if, it becomes available. In the meantime please consider voting this year, both in the council election and the bond issue election.
