I received the following through email from Curt Kuper.  He has granted permission for my posting it here and at FGGAM.org.

Dear Friends,

Here’s our chance to end late-term abortions in Albuquerque.  If you are an Albuquerque resident and a registered voter, please sign the petition as soon as possible and definitely before July 26 to get the Child Pain Protection Ordinance on the ballet in October.  If you live outside of Albuquerque, please forward this message to your friends and family who live in Albuquerque.  The petition, ordinance, and instructions are available at www.childpainprotection.com.  Sign and then bring the petition to the following locations (where they also have the petition if you’d like to sign it there) …

  • Faith Works (3301 Menaul NE) Sarah 505-670-0172
  • The Yard Thrift Store (2430 Juan Tabo NE)
  • Orphans Exchange Thrift Store (1815 Wyoming NE)
  • Holy Family Religious Goods (9421 Coors NW)

SIGN THE PETITION and help gather more signatures to get the

on the October 8th ballot!

Did You Know…

  • Abortion is legal through all 9 months of pregnancy in Albuquerque.
  • Albuquerque is known as the LATE TERM ABORTION CAPITAL of the country.  Women from across the U.S. travel to Albuquerque’s Southwestern Women’s Options to get late-term abortions.
  • The unborn baby at 8 weeks responds to touch and as early as 20 weeks (5 months) gestation experiences pain.
  • Abortions at 18 weeks and beyond involve greater risk to the mother than carrying the pregnancy to term
  • Albuquerque abortion clinics routinely send women to hospital emergency rooms for life-threatening bleeding and injuries.
  • New Mexico is one of 15 states that currently uses state tax dollars to fully fund abortions for women who have NM Medicaid.  In 2011 alone 1,786 abortions were paid for in NM by Medicaid costing taxpayers over 1.1 million dollars.

On June 28th, 2013, concerned citizens filed a petition for direct legislation by voter initiative with the Albuquerque City Clerk. The Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Ordinance if put into law will protect women and children by banning late-term abortion in Albuquerque.

HELP IS URGENTLY NEEDEDto gather 15,000 signatures by July 26th to get this ordinance on the October 8th ballot!!!

  • We need more volunteers to gather signatures after masses at EVERY Catholic church July 13-14 (that’s this coming weekend!) and July 20-21.
  • We need people to pick up petitions and circulate them among their family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors.
  • We need people to SIGN THE PETITION!

Every signature brings us one step closer to banning late-term abortion in Albuquerque!

Please call or stop in to get started and for more information.
