Why is Congress playing with the American people

Why do we (the collective we) hesitate to condemn Planned Parenthood and their killing and rendering factories.  I can’t fathom the reason and I bet you can’t either.  There should be no doubt as to why Planned Parenthood should not be funded after folks read the following from the The Patriot Post (http://PatriotPost.US).  We should all do what we can to wake Congress from their slumber of irresponsibility.

Spending $500 Million to Deprive Children of Life

By Allyne Caan

During the five-plus hours Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards spent before a congressional hearing on Tuesday, her organization had time to kill more than 185 babies.

Unfortunately, while debating whether the abortion mill should continue to receive more than $500 million annually in taxpayer dollars, Republicans, who rightfully called the hearing, asked the wrong question: “Does Planned Parenthood really need federal subsidies?”

Instead, they should have gotten to the crux of the issue: Does the Constitution authorize spending money to deprive children of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?

The correct answer is, of course, no.

Were the right question asked — and correctly answered — the hearing could have begun and ended in five minutes. But since Republicans went down the road of financial “need,” let’s take a look at those numbers.

Far from being a health clinic chain desperate for federal dollars, Planned Parenthood is a massive profit machine, grossing nearly $1.3 billion annually and holding $1.4 billion in assets. Richards herself pocketed pay of more than $590,000 in 2013, while more than 40 other Planned Parenthood execs make more than $200,000.

Richards admitted she “can’t think of a specific impact” of losing taxpayer dollars. We can think of 327,000 specific impacts.

(Incidentally, Richards also couldn’t think of any instances in which unborn children survive abortions. It’s amazing the sudden onset of amnesia a congressional hearing can spur.)

But back to funding, Planned Parenthood doesn’t “just get a big check from the federal government,” Richards said. “We, like other Medicaid providers, we are reimbursed directly for services provided.” And pulling federal funding “would deny people on Medicaid the ability to go to a provider of their choice, and many of them do go to Planned Parenthood for a variety of different reasons.”

According to the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute, public expenditures for family planning exceeded $2.3 billion in FY 2010 — and 75% of this went toward Medicaid. It’s all part of the Title X Family Planning Program, enacted in 1970, in accordance with Article Nil, Section Nonexistent of the Constitution. This funding purportedly supports a variety of family planning and preventative health services.

Of course, for Planned Parenthood, this “variety” does not include basic women’s health services like mammograms — no matter how many times its defenders lie about that particular service.

Perhaps this is why Richards herself does not rely on Planned Parenthood for her own health care.

In fact, if Richards is to be believed (cue: sarcasm), just a teeny weeny bit of this “variety” is abortion. According to Richards, Planned Parenthood’s 327,000 annual abortions are just 3% of the health services offered by its clinics.

Hmm, that’s odd. Richards herself has said Planned Parenthood serves 2.7 million women each year. Do the math, and the percentage is closer to 12 million. Not only this, but as Rep. Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) noted during the hearing, more than 86% of Planned Parenthood’s non-government revenue in 2013 came from abortions.

Even Common Core math can’t make 86 equal anything close to 3.

Still, Richards attempted to skirt the truth, explaining that some people come to Planned Parenthood “more than once for different services.” And she pulled the famous “federal money does not go for abortions” lie, saying, “So the federal portion that we were discussing is reimbursement for preventative care services.” Perhaps in fantasyland she’s right, but saying taxpayer money doesn’t fund abortions is like saying you can pour a bucket of water in the deep end of a pool and keep it out of the shallow end. The taxpayer dollars doled to Planned Parenthood are entirely fungible — and paying for some services allows the abortion mill to divert other resources to practice its primary and deadly trade.

In truth, Richards and her corporation masked as a non-profit organization are cashing in — at the expense of taxpayers — on the blood and body parts of innocent babies. And how tightly Planned Parenthood is holding onto its rhetoric of lies shows just how much their factories of death stand to lose.

Is it a controversy about fact or just the plain truth

In a recent Republican party debate for a spot on the next Republican presidential ticket, Carly Fiorina came out with serious accusations about Planned Parenthood, abortion and the harvesting of brain tissue from a still living fetus.  The main-scream media jumped on her statements and sought to disprove them.  But, video was discovered which shows something very close to what Ms. Fiorina discussed during the debate.  While the jury may be out on all of her allegations, there remains enough evidence of horrific attitudes and actions to the extent that every one who purports to respect and glorify life should be deeply concerned.

The following is a link to a Breitbart News article:

Was Carly Fiorina right?  Please know that the videos accompanying the narrative portion of the report are very graphic.

Late-Term Abortion Foes Remain Optimistic

Protect ABQ Women & Children Remains Optimistic about Ending Albuquerque’s Lucrative  Late-Term Abortion IndustryPro-Life Groups Outspent by Planned Parenthood, ACLU and Obama’s Organizing for America 4 to 1

Albuquerque – Despite being outspent by nearly a million dollars, the local New Mexico pro-life groups that started this ballot initiative remain upbeat in passing a statewide late-term abortion ban in New Mexico.”This was truly a grassroots movement driven by local New Mexicans, though we did not receive the result we would have liked tonight, many eyes have been opened to the fact that New Mexico is still one of the few states that permits abortions for all nine months of pregnancy and that we are home to the nation’s largest late-term abortion facility. Just because this didn’t pass, doesn’t mean the 20-week ban isn’t right,” said Elisa Martinez, executive director of Protect ABQ Women & Children.

And like the Albuquerque Journal Editorial “Update Abortion Law but Not at the City Level,” released Sunday said, our state’s abortion laws need to updated statewide to protect unborn children who feel pain and to protect women from this mostly elective procedure that is more deadly than birth. The facts are with us and I am confident with time we will end the lucrative late-term abortion industry in our state.”

In July, Protect ABQ Women & Children, along with other pro-life groups, turned in nearly 27,000 signatures, more than double the necessary needed to put the measure on a city-wide ballot, in half the allotted time. Protect ABQ Women & Children is a local advocacy campaign that is working to raise awareness of the dangers of the late-term abortion industry in Albuquerque and to garner support for the “Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Ordinance,” which bans abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy. The Dirt And The Facts Are In

We are posting the information found below because we support this organization and its goals.  We have not and will not receive any compensation for the posting of this material.

Should you wish to donate to the organization (Protect #ABQ Women & Children) there is a link for such toward the bottom of this post.

Dear Supporters,

Are you undecided, or perhaps unsure how to vote? You MUST see this video and please share!

ABQ, THIS IS LATE-TERM ABORTION.  Despite the distractions and rhetoric about women’s health, the reality is that women are being told to deliver their dead baby into a toilet — without the supervision of a doctor, nurse or even within a medical facility.  THIS IS NOT WOMEN’S HEALTH,  THIS IS A DISGRACE TO WOMEN AND CHILDREN.

Watch this video and hear for yourself!

Hear what experts in the field of late-term abortion and fetal pain have to say.

Don’t listen to unqualified, ideological statements from just anyone about the medical facts–especially a retired General Family Medicine Doctor with no professional experience in the matter.

Need more proof?

At a Public Forum in Albuquerque on Friday, Dr. Anthony Levatino — New Mexico OB/GYN and former late-term abortionist who provided his expert testimony in front of the U.S. House on the issue of 20 week abortion and beyond — commented on this video,

These people who care about women are telling her to deliver a 7 month pregnancy in a hotel room, in a toilet, with no medical attending at all. No nurse, no doctor. These are the people who ‘care about women’ . . . They’re lying when they’re talking about this being safer. They’re lying when they say that they care about women — when they tell them to deliver 7 month babies on toilets. DO SOMETHING. Please, this is your chance.”

Believe it or not, Albuquerque, this is just the tip of the iceberg. More facts and reasons why you should vote FOR this ordinance on behalf of women and children to come . . . stay tuned!

View Dr. Levatino’s expert testimony of the horrors of late-term abortion by clicking on the link below.

In addition to Dr. Levatino, Dr. Steffan Brown, a University of New Mexico physician completing a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine has also voiced his support FOR this ordinance. Brown, who performs minimally invasive procedures with fetuses at UNM Hospital, stated that he uses painkillers on both mothers and fetuses to improve outcomes of these life-saving fetal surguries.

“Do something. Please, this is your chance.”

Please forward this urgent message to your family and friends. Albuquerque voters must understand what late-term abortion is and it’s dangers to women and brutality toward children!Regards,
Elisa Martinez

Blame Democrats On Shutdown

The letter shown below was recently published in two local area newspapers.  The letter was in response to letters in both newspapers submitted by Ann Ruhnka.

Here is a link to Ann Ruhnka’s letter which appeared in one area newspaper:

Link to Ruhnka’s letter In Mountain View Telegraph

Blame Democrats on Shutdown

Well Ann Ruhnka finally got one thing right, that the government shutdown was grossly irresponsible.  However, the fault lies solely at the feet of the Democrats and Obama, who refused to negotiate, who are so fiscally irresponsible (outrageously unresponsible) who put their ill conceived policies before the country and the American people (her words), that they refused to even consider a number of proposals that would have kept the government running.  You see, these words blaming the Republicans must clearly be redirected to the Democrats instead.

Fiscally irresponsible defines the party who supports the Affordable (ha!) Health Care Act that was conceived at a lower amount, and then increased to a mere trillion dollars.  The true cost is now $3 trillion (with a T) according to the OMB. The House of Representatives is responsible for appropriation of funding for government programs.  The House Republicans simply did their job, as they did not believe that such an irresponsible program should be funded.  The Heritage Foundation states it is beyond dispute that Congress can use its power of the purse to defund Obamacare—both its mandatory and discretionary spending—in appropriations legislation this fall.

The truth is Obama plans to raise everybody’s taxes in order to pay for Obamacare.  He needs to tell the truth and start accounting for what he is paying out this money for…where is it going, who is getting it (e.g. Michelle’s classmate was awarded the no-bid CGI contract that developed the failed website for Obamacare). The stories of major increases in premiums and deductibles, reductions of full to part time jobs, the lost coverage with terminations of plans in the millions, and at least 18 new taxes, are just the tip of the iceberg for this repulsive plan.  Not only will it represent a take over of one-sixth of the economy by an incompetent, wasteful government who can’t even get the start-up right, it will be enforced by a corrupt internal revenue service.  Who in their right mind would support such a program?  Thank God the few Republicans in the House stood their ground…for now.

How many of us were really harmed, or even noticed the shutdown? (There could be a few legitimate cases of harm in New Mexico which has more government workers than most.)  The furloughed workers are promised to receive all of their back pay.  The real harm in the shut down was caused by barricading the WW II memorial, “revealing the mentality of a tin-pot dictator” according to columnist George Will. He further states, “The same punish-the-people attitude led to shutdowns of other parks and historic sites that get no federal funding.  “We’ve been told to make life as difficult for people as we can.  It’s disgusting,” a Park Service ranger told The Washington Times.  I’ve been saying for a while that there is no bottom to Obama. He’s not just ruthless. He’s without scruples and honor.”

With regard to the new Obamacare act being considered law, it is disgraceful that it was passed in the dark of night, having not even been read, by law-makers who were coerced into submission.  The scandal continued with the Supreme Court re-writing the law and making it a tax, instead of performing their job of interpreting the law and applying Constitutional principles.  According to the Heritage Foundation, while the Supreme Court has ruled on the individual mandate provision of Obamacare, dozens of lawsuits remain pending on various other aspects of the law.  How can we accept it as law when it keeps changing without Congressional approval, with Obama’s exemptions to favored cronies and labor unions, the revisions in certain implementation provisions, and the audacity to say this law of the land does not apply to Congress and their employees?  These changes were not part of the original law.  Obama does not have the authority to just change the law at his whim.

Lastly, closing of the government and refusing to increase the debt limit will not cause default any more than not increasing your credit limit means you can’t pay your monthly credit card bill.  (Increasing the debt limit will, however, foolishly allow the increase in debt.)  The money coming into the government at any time will be enough to cover our debts.  This is another dishonest sham being propagated by Obama and the Democrats, another lie to create another crisis with the next budget and debt-limit deadline. Just to be clear, next November voters must remember that Obama’s shutdown and reckless-spending partners in Congress were all Democrats.
