Why is Congress playing with the American people

Why do we (the collective we) hesitate to condemn Planned Parenthood and their killing and rendering factories.  I can’t fathom the reason and I bet you can’t either.  There should be no doubt as to why Planned Parenthood should not be funded after folks read the following from the The Patriot Post (http://PatriotPost.US).  We should all do what we can to wake Congress from their slumber of irresponsibility.

Spending $500 Million to Deprive Children of Life

By Allyne Caan

During the five-plus hours Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards spent before a congressional hearing on Tuesday, her organization had time to kill more than 185 babies.

Unfortunately, while debating whether the abortion mill should continue to receive more than $500 million annually in taxpayer dollars, Republicans, who rightfully called the hearing, asked the wrong question: “Does Planned Parenthood really need federal subsidies?”

Instead, they should have gotten to the crux of the issue: Does the Constitution authorize spending money to deprive children of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?

The correct answer is, of course, no.

Were the right question asked — and correctly answered — the hearing could have begun and ended in five minutes. But since Republicans went down the road of financial “need,” let’s take a look at those numbers.

Far from being a health clinic chain desperate for federal dollars, Planned Parenthood is a massive profit machine, grossing nearly $1.3 billion annually and holding $1.4 billion in assets. Richards herself pocketed pay of more than $590,000 in 2013, while more than 40 other Planned Parenthood execs make more than $200,000.

Richards admitted she “can’t think of a specific impact” of losing taxpayer dollars. We can think of 327,000 specific impacts.

(Incidentally, Richards also couldn’t think of any instances in which unborn children survive abortions. It’s amazing the sudden onset of amnesia a congressional hearing can spur.)

But back to funding, Planned Parenthood doesn’t “just get a big check from the federal government,” Richards said. “We, like other Medicaid providers, we are reimbursed directly for services provided.” And pulling federal funding “would deny people on Medicaid the ability to go to a provider of their choice, and many of them do go to Planned Parenthood for a variety of different reasons.”

According to the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute, public expenditures for family planning exceeded $2.3 billion in FY 2010 — and 75% of this went toward Medicaid. It’s all part of the Title X Family Planning Program, enacted in 1970, in accordance with Article Nil, Section Nonexistent of the Constitution. This funding purportedly supports a variety of family planning and preventative health services.

Of course, for Planned Parenthood, this “variety” does not include basic women’s health services like mammograms — no matter how many times its defenders lie about that particular service.

Perhaps this is why Richards herself does not rely on Planned Parenthood for her own health care.

In fact, if Richards is to be believed (cue: sarcasm), just a teeny weeny bit of this “variety” is abortion. According to Richards, Planned Parenthood’s 327,000 annual abortions are just 3% of the health services offered by its clinics.

Hmm, that’s odd. Richards herself has said Planned Parenthood serves 2.7 million women each year. Do the math, and the percentage is closer to 12 million. Not only this, but as Rep. Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) noted during the hearing, more than 86% of Planned Parenthood’s non-government revenue in 2013 came from abortions.

Even Common Core math can’t make 86 equal anything close to 3.

Still, Richards attempted to skirt the truth, explaining that some people come to Planned Parenthood “more than once for different services.” And she pulled the famous “federal money does not go for abortions” lie, saying, “So the federal portion that we were discussing is reimbursement for preventative care services.” Perhaps in fantasyland she’s right, but saying taxpayer money doesn’t fund abortions is like saying you can pour a bucket of water in the deep end of a pool and keep it out of the shallow end. The taxpayer dollars doled to Planned Parenthood are entirely fungible — and paying for some services allows the abortion mill to divert other resources to practice its primary and deadly trade.

In truth, Richards and her corporation masked as a non-profit organization are cashing in — at the expense of taxpayers — on the blood and body parts of innocent babies. And how tightly Planned Parenthood is holding onto its rhetoric of lies shows just how much their factories of death stand to lose.

Is it a controversy about fact or just the plain truth

In a recent Republican party debate for a spot on the next Republican presidential ticket, Carly Fiorina came out with serious accusations about Planned Parenthood, abortion and the harvesting of brain tissue from a still living fetus.  The main-scream media jumped on her statements and sought to disprove them.  But, video was discovered which shows something very close to what Ms. Fiorina discussed during the debate.  While the jury may be out on all of her allegations, there remains enough evidence of horrific attitudes and actions to the extent that every one who purports to respect and glorify life should be deeply concerned.

The following is a link to a Breitbart News article:

Was Carly Fiorina right?  Please know that the videos accompanying the narrative portion of the report are very graphic.

Life News: Abortion Rate Down

Report: Abortions Drop 32 Percent From All-Time High as Roe Turns 41

by Tatiana Bergum, Steven Ertelt | Washington, DC | LifeNews.com | 1/21/14 4:26 PM

Today, the National Right to Life Committee issued a new report, “The State of Abortion in America.”The best news from the report is that abortions have dropped 32 percent from their all-time high as Roe vs. Wade turns 41.

The report summarizes key legislative developments at the state and federal levels, finds that the annual number of abortions continues to decline, and shows that a majority continue to oppose the vast majority of abortions allowed under the doctrine of Roe v. Wade.

prolifeimage45“While the most recent data indicate a decrease in the annual number of abortions, tragically, more than 3,000 unborn children are still killed every day in the United States under the legal doctrine of Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton,” said National Right to Life President Carol Tobias. “As we observe the 41st anniversary of the twin decisions that legalized abortion in America, the pro-life movement remains committed to restoring legal protection to unborn children and providing help and support to their mothers.”

As noted in the report, on the basis of the most recent reports from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and by the Guttmacher Institute (originally founded as a special research arm of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America), National Right to Life now believes that there have been over 56 million abortions in America since 1973, the year that the U.S. Supreme Court legalized abortion on demand.

The report also observes that after reaching an all-time high of over 1.6 million in 1990, the number of abortions performed annually in the U.S. appear to have dropped to around 1.1 million a year.

This drop in the annual number of abortions can be traced to pro-life legislative efforts at the state and federal level that have raised awareness about the humanity of the unborn child These laws not only encourage life-affirming alternatives to abortion, they seek to inform and empower women facing unexpected pregnancy.

“Laws enacted at the federal and state levels have helped immensely in reversing the disturbing trend established by Roe and Doe,” observed Tobias. “As just one example, it is estimated that the Hyde Amendment, which prevents the use of taxpayer dollars to fund abortions in the Medicaid program, has saved well over one million unborn children since it was first enacted in 1976.”

Here’s more from Planned Parenthood (PP), er Eugenics and one or more of their planned death events.  Watch while their representatives stammer and stumble while never really providing correct information to the potential abortion parent and in another instance testimony from a PP representative fails to provide answers before Florida legislators.

Your President Plays With Those Who Play God

As each day ends, it is patently evident our “president,” and those surrounding him, while not really believing in a Christian God, love to assume the role.  This role-playing occurs in this president’s life beginning when he was a senator and continues to this day.  A couple of days ago Obama used God’s name in an attempt to bless Planned Parenthood, one of, if not the largest supporter and provider of late term and other abortion in this world.  Obama’s partners in the murderous mayhem occurring in the bloody houses of horror are the employees and providers dealing in death for babies they abort and death of mothers when the scissors or other tools used to help deal death are utilized wantonly.

It is good we have anti-abortion advocates exposing the callous ways abortion workers deal with the various processes of abortion … from counseling for what to do with babies surviving the butchers’ tools by drowning, snipping, or flushing to make sure the butcher’s job is completed to recruiting more victims in abortion.  One group investigating the lawlessness of many abortion mills is led by Lila Rose.  She and others joining her with LiveAction.org,  have been tireless and effective in exposing the law breaking aspects of abortion.  You will find a link just below taking you to narrative and video for their most recent undercover investigations:

Houston Democrats Throw Christmas Party at Planned Parenthood

by Mike Flynn

Talk show host Michael Berry alerted us to the upcoming event of the Harris County Democrat Party. One doesn’t have to be a dedicated pro-life activist to find the idea of this event kind of sick. I think even the majority of those who believe abortion services and clinics should be available would agree that an abortion clinic is the wrong venue for a Christmas Party.  (Yes, I realize they say “Holiday Party,” in the invitation below but for the vast majority of Americans, the holiday they celebrate in December is Christmas. Heck, the invitation even used green and red lettering, the traditional colors of Christmas.)

Considering that, for many Americans, Christmas is a celebration of  the birth of a child, a party at an abortion clinic is a particularly sick irony.

Anyway, looks like they’re having a pot-luck and are providing wine, so that’s nice. They note folks can BYOB for a “stronger celebration”! Again…at an abortion clinic.

Of course, one of the sponsoring organizations is “BAAD Women” (Bay Area Association of Democratic Women), so maybe the choice venue was absolutely intentional.

Stay classy, Houston Democrats.

(Note: I initially thought that perhaps this was strictly an administrative building for Planned Parenthood where, perhaps, no abortions were performed. Nope. They do abortions there. And Christmas Parties!)

Abortion: One Is Too Many

Abortion, abortion factories, doctors accused of murder — all with your and my money.  We have allowed a nation to be birthed which seems to no longer honor and desire full-term birth in millions of pregnancies.  We’ve watched while more and more abortions fall on the black and brown populations.  Margaret Sanger eugenicist and the creator of organizations that have evolved into an organization which kills the created, was a proponent of methods to “purify” our nations populace.  Ms. Sanger and her followers managed their philosophy on population purity through birth control in the black community and immigration control though the nation’s laws and regulation.   Sanger is eagerly honored by Planned Parenthood (PP) and others who are not familiar with her roles in racial purity advocacy.  You and I support PP through taxes we pay to the federal government.  Our contribution, over $300 million per year, covers about 1/3 of the organizations budget in the United States.

This so-called women’s health advocate (PP) helped to terminate the lives of just over 324,000 unborn (sometimes even born) in 2010.  Congress is presently (in February 2011) debating whether you and I should be parties to the termination of life through continuing tax support of PP and other abortion advocates.  Personally I prefer my tax dollars go to sustaining life and not sustaining death.  To that end, I urge you to read the article found here and then contact your congress members and suggest that they support the end of government paid abortions in order that you and I will no longer support termination of life.  Here is a web page for House contacts and here is the web page for Senate contacts, or if you prefer, here is a combination web page for both House and Senate.

It appears promises were made to be deceptive until the ink sufficiently dried on the health care bill (in this case) and the truth came out.  We do remember, don’t we, the statements of high-powered politicians, including those of our President.  There were a few statements and now we see one subjected to the light of day and found wanting for veracity.  From CNSNews.com by Senior Editor Susan Jones we see:

If you want proof that President Obama’s Executive Order on taxpayer-funded abortion was a sham, look no further than Pennsylvania, says House Republican Leader John Boehner (Ohio). Boehner and other Republicans point to reports that the Health and Human Services Department is giving Pennsylvania $160 million to set up a new high-risk insurance pool that will cover any abortion that is legal in the state.

Boehner calls the action “unconscionable.”  I would not wish to put words in Representative Boehner’s mouth, however he could just as well called it a whopper of a lie and been right on the mark.  Maybe we should retrace … Boehner says:

“Just last month at the White House, I asked President Obama to provide the American people with a progress report on the implementation of his Executive Order, which purports to ban taxpayer-funding of abortions. Unfortunately, the President provided no information, and the American people are still waiting for answers.” President Obama pledged that under his health care plan “no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions, and federal conscience laws will remain in place.”

In a May 13 letter to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, Boehner asked if her department has provided guidance to the states on how to implement the president’s Executive Order on abortion funding. Boehner also asked Sebelius if the new federal high-risk pools would exclude abortion coverage.

No answer was forthcoming from Sebelius according to Boehner (see sixth Zemanta link below.)   Unless he is naive, he should not expect any more than he has received, thus far. There are others angry about this deception, but they all probably expected the abortion promises to come to this, even as they hoped against hope that honor would out above trickery.  Tom McCluskey, a vice president of the Human Resource Council’s political arm, is one who seems not deceived, saying:

“This action by the Obama Administration also exposes the worthlessness of President Obama’s Executive Order that supposedly would prevent federal funding of abortion, but which both sides, including Planned Parenthood, agreed was unenforceable.

“While the American people deserve an apology from President Obama for his deception, we should only be satisfied when this Pennsylvania abortion funding is rescinded and the health care law repealed.

McClusky noted that the new health care law also includes $12.5 billion for community health centers, and $6 billion for co-ops, both of which can fund abortions.  And some people will use tax credits to help them pay for plans that cover abortion.

Are you sick and disgusted yet?  There isn’t much left of the article, so read from the start and see how you feel:

Oh, we forgot to tell you, the abortion money thus far, also goes to New Mexico and Maryland.  We would not place too much faith (no pun intended) in the sixth Zemanta link found below.  Just the tip of the scalpel, we bet.

Vandals Accused Of Hitting Pro-Life Advocate Facilities

Partial view of the Paris 2009 pro-life march ...

By Chuck Ring (GadaboutBlogalot ©2009 – 2010)

Quote Freely From The Article – Leave The Pseudonym Alone

According to LifeNews.com, Pro-Life advocates in Dubuque, Iowa and Albuquerque, NM suffered at the hands of vandals:

Dubuque, IA (LifeNews.com) — Pro-abortion vandals have hit pro-life advocates in two states — Iowa and New Mexico. In the former, a member of Dubuque County Right to Life was victimized by having his property spray-painted with pro-abortion graffiti; in the latter, a pro-life group’s truck and the home of its driver were pelted with eggs.

The damages were not serious, but there were some curious occurrences that might give one pause to wonder.  In the instance of the Iowa vandalism the reporter seemed to make the victim the local pro-abortion group:

Regarding the Iowa case, the local Dubuque newspaper has attempted to turn the obvious attack on a pro-life activist’s home into a pro-life conspiracy to insult Planned Parenthood.

At first, the Dubuque Telegraph Herald refused to publish the story about the vandalism. Then, the newspaper’s editor made it appear pro-life advocates made up the incident.

Blogger Jill Stanek reveals that e-mail communications and phone calls to the paper’s editor, Brian Cooper, show that his opinion was that the vandalism was conducted by a covert pro-lifer or someone without a view on abortion who was trying to make Planned Parenthood look bad.

In the Albuquerque case, there is some indication that the acts were discussed prior to the event’s execution:

Perhaps not coincidentally, on June 11, 2010, a 17-year old pro-abortion blogger named “Clay” complained about the truck, which bears graphic abortion images, and discussed possible responses.

“What should we do? Chain someone to their door? Egg their vehicles?” he wrote.

We are sure there will be more developments regarding the events in both cities.  Meanwhile for those wo didn’t catch it, we mentioned that Albuquerque might be on its way to becoming the Late Term Abortion Captiol (click link) with the arrival in Albuquerque of abortionist Curtis Boyd and his helpers. Here’s a link to the complete story (click.) There are other links to peruse at the post and the image above is provided by Mathew Moorhead and it depicts. the March For Life, January 2009 in Paris.

Planned Parenthood’s Press Release Unimpressive

Wisconsin Welcome Sign

By Chuck Ring (GadaboutBlogalot ©2009).

Quote Freely From The Article – Leave The Pseudonym Alone

Reader’s will recall this story published several days past on this blog.  It is the sordid AND sorry story of how an employee and an abortion deliverer in Appleton, Wisconsin meted out wrong advice about embryo viability and other aspects of abortion. Now the abortion clinic has released information that allegedly tells the facts.

The problem with Planned Parenthood‘s (PP) side of the story … facts are scarce as hens teeth in the telling. Not only would a bit of common sense and a little rudimentary biology tell the true story, but experts seem to say that PP is way off the knowledge path. You can read the information provided by a couple of embryologists here.

Now to keep information flowing in chronological order as released, you can read the information provided by PP .  As you will see, it would be a convincing piece of deception if the entire story was not available. But, the information is available and it is provided in the article posted earlier.

To bind the mess up and tell all the story, LiveAction has wisely provided a point-by-point refutation to PP’s sad attempt at explaining their side of the issue. You can read LiveAction’s rebuttal by clicking here.

There’s will be more, no doubt.
