SCOTUS: ACORN Is Nuts — Appeal Is Cracked

Well, ACORN lost its appeal on their government funding suit.  Actually, they lost the appeal because the Supremes refused to hear it … essentially saying you have no case, you nuts.So you can count the savings after any mime organization decides to quit trying to carry-on for them.

There is not a lot of detail provided at this point, but here is some information from the The Bellingham Herald originating from The Associated Press:

WASHINGTON The Supreme Court won’t hear an appeal from ACORN, the activist group driven to ruin by scandal and financial woes, over being banned from getting federal funds.

The high court on Monday refused to review a federal court’s decision to uphold Congress’s ban on federal funds for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.

Congress cut off ACORN’s federal funding last year in response to allegations the group engaged in voter registration fraud and embezzlement and violated the tax-exempt status of some of its affiliates by engaging in partisan political activities.

Also, the court will not hear a discrimination lawsuit filed as a class action against Wal-Mart.  You can see more on that right here.

Maybe The Progressives In New Mexico Can Discover Colorado’s Secret

The Colorado State Seal

Assuming the Progressives and other extreme “liberals” serving wasting our time and money, really do want to safeguard the votes they may rely on from illegal aliens and protect the aliens’ driver’s license, all in one neat package, perhaps they should look to Colorado as a potential example.  Not to say Colorado, to the north of our Banana Republic state (New Mexico) has intentionally registered, or carelessly allowed to be registered, the 5000 illegal aliens Colorado says voted in the 2010 election in that state.

According to a story from The Hill posted by Debbie Siegelbaum, officials in Colorado have reported to the US House of Representatives that:

… a Colorado study that found as many as 5,000 non-citizens in the state took part in last year’s election.

Rep. Gregg Harper (R-Miss.), the panel’s chairman, called the study “a disturbing wake-up call” that should cause every state to review its safeguards to prevent illegal voting.

Colorado’s Secretary of State discovered the discrepancies by comparing the state’s driver’s license information with their voter registration database:

Colorado Secretary of State Scott Gessler, a Republican, told the panel that his department’s study identified nearly 12,000 people who were not citizens but were still registered to vote in Colorado.Of those non-citizen registered voters, nearly 5,000 took part in the 2010 general election in which Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet narrowly defeated Republican Ken Buck.

Colorado conducted the study by comparing the state’s voter registration database with driver’s license records.

A Democrat from the committee seemed to be having none of the Colorado official’s take on the issue.  He made an inquiry and then a pronouncement — both of which seemed to be of no value pertaining to solutions to the problem of illegal voting:

Rep. Charles Gonzalez (D-Texas) raised doubts about the reporting, noting that the study itself said it was based on inconclusive data and that it was “impossible to provide precise numbers” on how many people who were registered to vote in the state were not citizens.

Mr. Gessler provided a response to Representative Gonzalez and the response, along with the entire article can be found right here.

Of course it wasn’t my place to respond to Mr. Gonzalez, but had I been able, my response would be along the line of:  The problem exists, so as our protector from all things alien … find a solution or remove yourself.

New Mexico’s Secretary of State has found similar information, but thus-far has not identified very many illegal alien voters.  Perhaps with a little executive assistance from our governor, Susana Martinez, we might be able to turn the tide and cause a tsunamic return of aliens back to whatever nation with which they enjoy legal citizenship.

My two cents …

Rally At The Roundhouse

On August 26, 1920 the U.S. Congress finally passed the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote. Club 54 and the SFFRW are co-sponsoring a rally at the State Capitol from 5-6:00 pm in order to highlight the important issue of voting rights and the impact of women in politics and especially in the upcoming election.

The Line Up:

Jared Hamilton, from Hispanos Unidos, will be the emcee. You may remember her from her presentation on voter fraud at the April 15th TEA Party rally on the Plaza.

Our keynote speaker will be Asenath Kepler, who recently ran for Mayor of Santa Fe against David Coss. Unfortunately she didn’t win, but her campaign raised the awareness of the inefficiencies in the current administration, and was also able to create a broad coalition of support among voters of all political parties. Ms. Kepler is also a family descendant of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, one of the first and most important Suffragists and she will bring the history of the suffrage movement – 70 years of fighting for liberty – to life.

Diana Duran, State Senator and candidate for Secretary of State, will talk about the important role of the SOS in securing fair, honest, legal elections. Senator Duran has been the leading voice for Photo Voter ID in the Senate. If elected, she would replace the current Secretary of State Mary Herrera, whose term has been full of controversy and allegations of unethical (if not illegal) behavior.

Dianna Hamilton, State Representative, has been the leading voice for Photo Voter ID in the House and will share some of the outrageous incidences of voter fraud in New Mexico and what we all need to do to fight it.

I’m talking about ACORN and I mean they have intestinal fortitude in the worst possible way. The Digital Journal has just reported that 11 of the stealing shells have been arrested for voter fraud. You can read the story here Nuts alleged to have planted seeds of fraud

Maybe they will be forced to march to the music of  The Nutcracker Suite
